Intrusive Thoughts – Do You Know When To Say No?

September 1st 2010 -

Intrusive thoughts are called as such because of its nature to completely disturb the state of mind of a person. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder or OCD sufferers are the ones who suffer from such intrusions. While in many cases, OCD manifests through rituals and repetitive practices, there are instances when the disorder manifests more in the mind of the person. For example, a person with intrusive thoughts of becoming a killer will most likely not become a killer because he or she will surely avoid anything that her mind thinks will only make her one – things such as knives or metal rods or guns. The sufferer might go as far as thinking that he really have the tendencies of a real killer, even to a point of believing that he or she will most likely end up in jail for killing someone. Up until now, the nature of this condition is left undiscovered.
